The Sharpshooters price is accurate unless you have a year membership card...then the FFL is $25 dollars...but they won't do from places like Buds...Check...

Grant Pinto (High Caliber Inc) is a great FFL - His fees are $25 to $35.
He is located in Arlington / Falls Church Area.

The Gun Shop (Rt 29 / Warrenton) is 20, but the owner holds the FFL and is barely ever in. Sometimes hard to coordinate getting it faxed to who you need it faxed too.

Martin at http://www.teutonicarms.com/, works from his home in Lorton, was a pleasure to work with. And at $20 for a FFL (Gunbroker buy), I tipped him $5. Highly recommended.

We just got two transfers via TBL Arms a few miles south of Leesburg for $25 per transfer plus $2 for the registration. Everything was handled efficiently with no problems. He got his license faxed to the sellers immediately and contacted us the day the guns arrived. My only negative was that he isn't set up to handle more than one person at a time in his small office and business was booming. We ended up standing in a very crowded room filling out forms on clipboards that got bumped around every time anybody moved.

The $25 seems standard for small dealers/gunsmiths around Leesburg with the commercial outlets charging about double that.

Second on Charlie. I haven't taken delivery yet, but he was super responsive in contacting me and getting paperwork sent. In contrast, I contacted another FFL listed on Gunbroker. Got a read receipt for my email, but nothing else back.

FYI, Charlie's fee is up to $25 now. Still competitive.

Just a quick follow-up (since I can't edit my prior post):

Finally met Charlie and took delivery. Long story short, I goofed up my ID and had to return a second time. What an incredibly decent guy. He was very nice, extremely hospitable (we jawed for almost an hour during the first meeting) and informative as well. Not only was he cheap, he was very flexible on meeting times. And, he's a Marine.

Definitely be giving him more business ... when I get some money!

I know this thread is a few years old but I was looking for a local FFL in Reston and gave Charlie at P3 a call but he's in West Virginia now.

Any other recommendations in the Reston area with reasonable FFL rates? I'm looking to have a complete AR lower from PSA transferred.

Thanks!

I ended up using NOVA Armament in Herndon since they are a few minutes from work. I'll report back once I pick-up my lower.

Glad you found an FFL. What do the transfer fees look like over there?

Not in Reston…in Winchester…I charge $20 for Title I ($10 for each additional) and $50 for Title II ($25 for each additional. Will accept from dealer or individual, just need a copy of their drivers license.

I forgot to come back. NOVA in Herndon was $30 for a AR lower, plus $2 for the background check.

Also, I called Charlie with P3 first and he moved to West Virginia so he no longer does FFL transfers for VA.
