What is a "licensed gun owner'"
I assume if the firearm was in the pants pocket it would be concealed. In VA you do need a concealed permit to "legally" carry concealed. A better phrasing may have been " a concealed permit owner" but most news groups like to call it a license and in some states it is called that. At least that is my best guess at what they were trying to say. Then again the reporter and editor may not realize you don't need a "license" to legally carry in VA.

Most media types come from places like New York, Illinois, and California, where licensing is the norm. They just assume everywhere else is like where they're from. (This is a manifestation of
SoCalization.)

As I recall, a Boy Scout in the VT slaughter used a tourniquet to stop himself from bleeding out from a femoral artery that was hit by a bullet.

This is why I've always said I'd never carry a Glock. But to pocket carry one is imprudent in the extreme.

This is why I've always said I'd never carry a Glock. But to pocket carry one is imprudent in the extreme.
Of course it's his fault. HIS gun went off in HIS pocket. He's fortunate to have had it only kill him, and not his wife or children, or other bystander. I hate to come off as insensitive, but that's how I see it. Don't get me wrong; I feel for the family of this man. This is a very sad, very tragic, but also very preventable event.

I don't see it as a Glock problem....my M&P does not have a safety, either. Not that I'd carry either one naked in my pocket. Jeez.

If a gun is in a holster then it will not go off. Dispite the myths you may have heard there are no such things as trigger grimlins that reach into hostlers and pull people's trigger.
