OK, let me lead off with ...
a. I am a BRA member; joined in 2009, have frequent BRA since 2006 - when I moved from WashDC to Fairfax (formerly member at Maryland Small Arms Range near Andrews Air Force Base).
b. 90% of my gear is from BRA; only my weapon is from a different gun store (BRA did not have the caliber in stock that I wanted, at the time of purchase and also I saved about $200 - which the staff of BRA told me to jump on that deal ASAP).
c. Former USAF so I can "waive" into CCW-VA, but will take the BRA course, just to make sure that I am up to par with skill-set requirements of SAFETY first...
d. I shoot at BRA at least once a week; the ammo availablilty sucks (but that is the sign of the times); never have I had BRA staff ignore me, or fail to answer questions.
e. BRA Armorer is one of three folks that I allow to touch my weapon - me, wife and BRA.
f. I have NEVER waited for a lane - membership or not - when shooting at BRA.
g. I do NOT care how the owner of a business voted - insomuch that I AM concerned that he actually VOTED and exercised his constitutional RIGHT(s) to do so; that SPEAKS volumes to me...
h. I see the article as typical "blindside" damned if you do, damned if you don't; the "reporters" obviously were not serious about the significance of BRA, and wanted a sensational story to make headlines or garner interests.
i. I am disappointed in BRA for allowing the "reporters" into the range...? personally - yes, business-speaking - the owner has EVERY right to do as he sees fit for his establishment; it will NOT stop me from being a member, nor move me to alter my stance/positions. Again, it is his RIGHT; one that he exercised as part of our country's wealth of RIGHTs - and YES, I took the oath to protect this country, against all enemies foreign and domestic....
