i like my sigs... a lot! ;-)
i get lots of range time and i dry fire practice all the time. their manual of arms have become real comfortable to me. personally, i think that learning and becoming proficient in da, sa, decocking, etc are all important. occasions might realistically arise where one must utilize a sidearm different than one's normal carry hardware. knowledge is power.

all that notwithstanding, i appreciate the glock philosophy, too, but personally i've chosen a da/sa/no external safety hammer gun as my defensive sidearm of choice. i just can't find a sweet spot with striker-fired guns, ergonomics or otherwise.

cheers!

.40 sucks!

.40 has a perceived "snappy" recoil as it is both stronger (than 9mm) and shorter (than .45 ACP) than other cartridges that equal it in energy.

I don't get that abortion of a caliber, and I am in short (haha) order, getting out of that caliber completely. 10mm here I come!
oh, come on, bud... tell us what you really think! :P
btw... i don't think .40sw is overly snappy, but i shoot it a lot out of guns designed around the cartridge. the p229r, for example.

I am a supporter of the .40 cal round better stopping power then the 9mm. But my wife switches between her Kahr and ruger sr9 both fitting a smaller persons hand with little recoil.

I own .22LR, 9mm, 7.62x25, .38, .375mag, .357 Sig, .40 cal, .32, .380, .44mag, .45 long Colt, .410 gauge, and .45ACP pistols. Some day, I'm going to finally get around to buying a Desert Eagle that shoots .50AE. I can just about hit a bull in the @ss with any of them. But I'm a dyed-in-the-wool .45ACP 1911 pistol guy. That's what I like; that's what I'm comfortable with; and that's what I have more fun with.

But the best (or at least a good) pistol for a given person is the one he or she can HIT something with. End of story.
