Do you have any pics? just started doing the same thing myself. Figured I'd be crazy not to since you wind up with a legit Russian AK in the end! Where did you get your barrel threaded?
I threaded the barrel in my back yard. Then I sold the threading tools, so it cost me $40 to thread the barrel on the rifle. It's not hard if you take your time.

I think I'd be to afraid to, mainly cutting the front off where the sight extends to the end of the barrel. Thanks though.
