Okay i've taken it out twice, and put about 150 rds thru it each time , and both times it jammed once (different ammo first night CCI stingers , today Aguila Super).

In both cases it double fed rounds from the magazine, I am wondering if this less the gun and potentially something i am doing wrong when I load the magazine-anyone have any opinions?

Probably the gun IMO. Trust me from experience

even though it's not a failure to cycle, but rather literally it feeds two rounds instead of one (and hence the jamming in the chamber)?

Sounds like a failure to extract the fired shell. Maybe look at the extractor make sure it's nice and clean(don't see why it wouldn't be).

No it was clearly two unfired rounds it had pulled up and wedged in there;
that is what struck me as weird- if it happens again I will try to take a pic

I did clean it thoroughly today so if that was the issue hopefully it will be resolved (though I also cleaned before using in the first place)

I'm just very perplexed by it

O I think I see what your saying. The bolt is stripping two rounds from the mag instead of one

exactly=any idea of what could be the cause? and operator error is very possible (as this is entitled my first rifle after all)

Without looking at the rifle in person all I would be doing is guessing. Maybe try reproducing the malfunction by just hand cycling the action at home(obviously with a safe backstop and all the good stuff) some times that helps a little. I noticed the mag is screwed together so I would just go ahead and double check the screws are tight.
