if we have been screwed by the democrats ,how did our economy go from being on track to being balanced ,to getting into 2 wars and 14 trillion in debt? we belong in Afghanistan due to the Taliban harboring Al Queida ,but we had no reason to go into Iraq after Bush sr neutered Saddam

You clearly have no idea, but I'll take the bait. I'm feeling comical today. Starting with Carter there was a push that everyone in America should be able to own a home. Why? I don't know. Not everyone should. Some people are irresponsible clowns.

Then under Clinton there was a renewed push for this concept. But instead of just speeches, they pushed for legislation that would allow for sub-prime lending. Sub-prime lending, you know, the same concept used by eastern motors (your job's your credit). Instead of a ghetto car though, you buy a house. Who was supposed to oversee whether the practices were abusive? Fannie Mae. But, hmm, one of the most liberal congressman was supposed to look over fannie mae. Why, it was your very own barney frank. Here's the rub though, the guy responsible at Fannie was Barney's boyfriend. No problems here, huh?

Since there was no oversight, companies started entering into credit default swaps with the swap assets bets on the housing market.

This crashed the global economy.

Bush was a big spender, and was spending a lot on two full-scale wars. Obama is spending 4 times that amount, and the wars are going at about 1/10 the size under Bush. Yet, our economy still is failing, and unemployment keeps rising.

This is just the economy. Add this to everything else the democrats are trying to do (dismantle the military again by downsizing and getting rid of pensions, use a single shooting to ban more firearms, use agencies such a the EPA to control private property, etc.) and yes, I'd say the democrats have really screwed America.

But, those are just the facts. What do I know?
