Um... that was the point. Unless you typed that wrong that was the intent. They removed the duck dynasty stuff (ie A&E) and kept the duck commander stuff (ie The Robertsons).

So they stood by their word and supported the family and not the channel that exiled them.

Again, unless you typed that backwards.

No I didn't. Duck Dynasty is owned by A&E. The ones that shunned Phil. Duck Commader is owned by the Robertsons. They kept DC stuff which is why I went to go eat at the establishment. But by them falling on their word to keep A&E products I'm irritated.

I could care less about the DD brand, the Robertsons we're doing fine even before that. I'm irritated at the fact that Cracker Barrel did not stand behind their word because of a little public scrutiny (unlike Phil who's not apologizing for what he said/thinks). Think back to chik-fil-a. They stood behind their words and didn't back down.

Cracker Barrel, just like the rest of America, bows down to appease a select few instead of sticking by their words.

Well, all this time has passed and nobody else has said it, so I will.

The most heinous thing about what was done to Phil Robertson and how it was done is that the GQ interviewer violated the sanctity of the blind. Words that pass between two men who are speaking frankly on serious matters in a duck/goose/deer blind always has been and of right ought to be protected by the same kind of inviolate confidentiality as what passes between lawyer and client or doctor and patient. Anybody who talks out of school about such stuff would be forever banished from the company and good offices of hunters and other men who matter. A New York Yankee GQ magazine hack is probably immune to such a terrible sanction. But he ort to have his ass kicked over it anyway.

I did not make that up. The council of Nicea removed it because it offended the Greeks.

So when people quote that "Thou shalt not add, nor take away from the scripture" I quiz them "Before, or after Nicea?" When you travel up, and down the spiritual/religious spectrum for years, and you decide Christianity... you better RESEARCH it before you start brow-beating folks.

It's why I keep my religious opinions generally too myself, and simply shake my head when I'm called an "idiot", or "Stupid" for having a belief in something much bigger, and better, than myself. I will defend my faith, but not with insults,

Of the texts listed above they were all removed due to their dubious sources and authorship. Quite a few of them were just retellings of pagan stories involving a Christian cast. It wasn't some DaVinci code conspiracy, just scholarship which is still in dispute today. I don't think the Catholic church nailed down their version (no pun intended) until the mid 16th century.

Surprised Maccabees 3 wasn't there; the Ethiopians use it and it's an interesting read.

The Book of Revelations barely made it in, which is funny since many fixate on that one most of all.

The Protestants further reduced the Bible in size by removing all OT books written by Greek speaking Jews (Baruch, Judith, etc.).

Never discount the source of God's word... otherwise, crazy men, shepherds, farmers, and prostitutes would never have validity.

They claimed "because not enough proof" existed, but they removed ALL the females who were strong, and fierce. Changed Mary Magdalene into a prostitute, and removed "Thomas" where Jesus said "The Church is built upon the word, not stone, nor timber, it is within each of us who worship the father through me."

IE: "YOU DON'T NEED A BUILDING TO GO TO CHURCH!"

Since I read that part? Never went back. Every church I've gone too has some preacher, rabbi, priest telling me what God says, I've always countered "God knows where I am... he speaks to me when he needs me... I don't need an interpreter."

Pisses'em off royally, but it's in the bible... people need to read that thing... ALL of it! Even the books they removed. It gives you more faith than you'd ever believe, more reason to love God, The Son, and the Holy Spirit than you'd ever need, and makes you realize, even with a hard-chargin', cursing, drinking idjut can do the will, and works of the LordThyGod.

Christmas pisses me off because to others it's about presents, and food, and tv specials, and lights, and blah, blah, blah....

The Roman's chose it to appease the pagans... People don't read everything, they just hear stuff, and take it as Gospel.

Maybe one day, I'll be here when Jesus comes back... and I will watch with joy, and happiness as he smites those who have done us wrong. "Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord." I cannot watch the fall-to-their knees unbelievers who shake, and quiver in his presence...

And I will utter the phrase people hear from me in conflict when I have surpassed them:

"WHAT NOW B*TCHES?!?!"

I also am very annoyed by people who misinterpret/mislead others about the scriptures.

Jesus was not a peace loving hippy like some people would want to believe. He was/is the textbook definition of a Radical Revolutionary.

IE: Hippies don't get crucified, they get marginalized.

Personal Property, Personal Responsibility and Capitalism are all Biblical Principals.

IE: In the parable about the talents the guy who is punished is the guy who did not attempt to use his talent but squandered the opportunity his master gave him. It also points to the fact that to whom much is given much is expected.

Also Jesus gets pissed at people who know the scriptures but did not follow them.

IE: When he saw the money changers and others doing buisness in the temple and he made a whip/switch, flipped tables (which is a badass move any day), and ran them out of the temple.

I'm pretty sure Christmas wasn't to appease to the pagans. They slaughtered the pagans and took their holiday of Saturnalia and called it Christmas. Honestly, everything in Christianity came from some religion/faith/belief older than it.

Indeed, Christianity was rather well established at that point.

That didn't start until the Dark Ages-specifically Charlemagne. While violence between Christians and pagans (initiated by both sides-chiefly by vandalizing each others temples) in Rome was not new it was largely relegated to street brawl levels in size and scope.

In the early days of the Christian faith there was also quite a bit of intra-religious violence as well as doctrine was sorted out/dissidents punished.

"When was Jesus born" is still an unsettled question. In the end it was decided to do it on Saturnalia for the reason Saturnalia is around winter solstice (the darkest time of year representing the darkness pre-Christs birth).

You can't walk five steps into Judaism without tripping over Assyrian or Babylonian roots or in Islam without tripping over pagan semitic traditions either, what of it?

I agree superficially this is true, as there are similarities between Christianity and Mithraism (plus the Vatican is built on the foundations of a Mithraic temple ironically enough) and the cult of Deus Sol Invictus they break apart upon closer study.
