So you live in one of the most anti-gun cities in America, and don't (can't even if you wanted) own a gun.
So you're on a gun forum in
Virginia.
Why? Not accusing you of ulterior motives, just seems pointless to be here.
i didn't say i still live there. i said i was going to school there, and i've never said i wasn't a virginia native. you came to those conclusions all by yourself
And you grew up in Florida. And you came here to learn what others thought of "Stand Your Ground", though from your first post on the subject you made it known that you are against it and had some anecdote from your past that was not applicable to the law whatsoever. As well, you advocated a race riot and punishment for a person that may well be not guilty. Etc, etc. etc. Should you then wonder that some, myself included, might feel you are a troll?

I posted last night on this topic, went and read up and did my research and my opinion on it has changed considerably in under 24 hours. Im quite willing to bet that it will keep changing as we go. The one piece of information stuck in my head is the weapon not cycling. It seems to show the beating was real and that Zimmerman was in fear for his life, and Mr. Martin did have his hand on the weapon. The circus isnt soon to cease however.

As long as a National Buttholes like Rev'rum AL are singing their BS tune this thing will continue to be turned into an even bigger dog and pony show as time goes by...

"this is chicago" is the present tense, the conclusion that you a currently living there is not too far fetched.

If nothing else this should be a reminder to all. The internet is forever! Long after you are gone to sweet Jesus, or not, as the case may be, your tweets and facebook posts remain. Don't say anything you don't want you great grandchildren to read about.

The bias in this case is disgusting. In 2010 an unarmed white Iraqi war veteran in Texas was murdered by an African American off duty police officer. He was unarmed:

http://www.beaumontenterprise.com/news/ ... 343358.php
This was cold blooded murder in broad daylight with multiple witnesses, yet he was never brought to trial and got his job back although he had a history of violence. The media circus today is nothing but the Liberal media taking away attention from the real issues that are going on leading up to an important campaign.

I am also betting they are waiting on the forensic evidence such as trajectory and distance. There should be a much clearer picture of where everyone was at the time of the shot.
If it turns out Zimmerman was on the ground with Martin over him then the detractors case unravels.

Exactly. Thank you.
For the record, I had no problem with "justsomeguy" posting here looking for an intelligent Q&A session. I'm always up for it. And if I'm not here, I'm sure MamaBearCali will step in.
Right now, the court of public opinion is still in session with several million, uninformed people going off half-cocked. I fear for our society when we, as a nation, start listening to the mob 100% of the time (as opposed to, say, 50% of the time as we seem to now). I haven't seen racial divisiveness like this in decades (thank you, Herr Obama). Seems like just yesterday when Obama was bad-mouthing honest Massachusetts police officers for arresting his "friend," before knowing all the facts. And why no arrests for the New Black Panthers party publicly putting a $10k (soon to be $1M once they raise the funds) bounty on Zimmerman being "brought in
dead or alive?"
The police are slowly showing the public that, yes, they did in fact, dare I say it,
investigate this incident. Does a certain part of the population want to hear this? No. And the Libs are now, as expected, turning this into a case of "overthrow the Stand Your Ground" statute. So very typical and expected of them.
Today I read that the Sanford Police Department is going to be internally investigated. That's a shame. I think they have nothing to hide either. And I also read that more and more is being learned about Trayvon's "background." Always the victim, his mother and father are blaming the state for trying to make their son look bad. Our actions determine who we are -- having those actions made public isn't the state's fault. It's the parents. I'm tired of our nation being one of excuses. What ever happened to being responsible and owning up to our mistakes and faults? My dad used to punish me for screwing up in ways that today would have Child Protective Services at the door in 2 seconds. But he got it right. Who has two thumbs, isn't a screw-up, and thinks his dad did a great job raising him? This guy!
So back to Rich's original post, yes this case does indeed hurt all gun owners -- if the Libs get their way. It may just start in Florida, but if they somehow managed to get SYG overturned, rest assured they will go after the other 20 or so states that have similar statutes.
[/end rant]

I got your back silentserviceVet.

I am not nearly as concise and as clear as you, though--so don't disappear for too long of stints.

Its all good, the American public is infamous for its tragically short attention span. In two weeks Kim Kardashian (or some other interchangeable pseudo-starlet) will "accidentally" flash some lady-bits getting out of a limo and this will be forgotten as the Next Big Controversy begins.
Meanwhile gun owners by and large are very numerous and seem to have longer memories. The hurt we feel will be minor and temporary.

After reading the leaked police report and news articles from the FL papers - Orlando and Tampa, including what some witnesses had to say - it appears that Zimmerman may have been accosted and then assaulted. If that is true, then the case may not hurt gun owners except in the eyes of those who are already against private gun ownership.

I find this whole thing funny and I when I told my in-laws that the true is not out there I was told I am just another white guy who is raciest even thought I married a lady who is of darker complection than I am. My wife is a Police Officer and she came home talking about how this "little boy" was shot by a white guy and I said do you know how old and tall he was? She said yes 12 or 13. I told her no he is 6 foot and a few inches and 17 years old who was suspended on vandelism from school and according to school sources a possible small time drug dealer. I am suppose to go to a family get together this weekend but her and I are going shooting instead. We came to the conclusion to let the facts come out and not to listen to the news as much. Unfortuentlly she listens to the news 24/7 and that rots your brain.
This goes to show that the media can cause people not to think for themselves somthing we have known for a long time .

I can vouch for that because I let it happen to me. I'm going back to the tried and true philosophy of not believing anything I hear and only half of what I see.
