coyotes are not native to VA. Therefore the slot they've moved into in nature here they took from other animals (fox, bobcat, possum, raccoon, etc). They aren't necessary to the "order of things" in this state.
Removing them, or as many as can be done, will not hurt anything. Whatever "service" they provide in the natural order of things will once again be filled by the animals native to the state of VA.
Get'er done. And don't worry about the folks who say otherwise.
