Re: Election results thread
Guess it doesn't matter. The world I value is being taken from me, and its a force to reckon with. Mindless and senseless. A selfish generation of lazy farts is going to sell their rights, and with it mine, down the tubes, all because they don't want to work, and want freebees.
Moving is only going to buy me some time. I feel worse for my kids. They will know a much worse world than I did.

Re: Election results thread
To be honest, and I've said it before, the liberals have a long term plan.
We have to start having a strategy that we might not see, but our children's children might.
I'm working for their benefit, to leave this state and hopefully this nation in a good place for them.
To just cut up and run is a quick way to make their small victory into a bigger success.

You know what? I'm thinking of selling everything in excess that I own, and just pulling every dime I have, and find a new country...
This one is about toast.

If you find one that has the freedom we [technically] enjoy, let me know. I think they have all lost their guns, speech, etc., for the greater good.Reverenddel wrote:You know what? I'm thinking of selling everything in excess that I own, and just pulling every dime I have, and find a new country...

Re: Election results thread
Yep, I did that search a couple of years ago, and didn't come up with squat. I concluded the only way to have more freedom than here, would be some third world country where you'd have to bribe for your rights.

These things just make you want to disappear and move out in the middle of nowhere completely cut off from the rest of the World.
Just live off the grid in some underground shipping container lol.
Ugh... the past few years have been like watching the end of star wars episode 3 (the newer one) over and over.

...and who thinks the ballot box is still a viable option?
There is no option left for the interests of Liberty except the cartridge box...for those with the courage and determination to water the tree. The time hasn't come yet--but it is inevitable.
Some of you ridiculed me for insinuating this yesterday but now I see many of you now talking about running away. Yeah...that's being a patriot. Yeah....right.

Prince William went red, though I am surprised. When I was leaving my voting place a white van filled with people who I recognized from trying to pan handle pulled up and were led to vote.mamabearCali wrote:Can we excommunicate the northern counties, they can have their own state. Why does DC get to take over VA......grrrrrr. Very upset. Not a thing I can do about it.

In line in front of me someone who spoke not a word of English was allowed to vote. His wife Interpreted for him though her English was not very good.
I would not have believed it if I had not seen it. I wonder how many illegals were allowed to vote.

No offense, but only cowards flee. I choose to stay and fight.mamabearCali wrote:We will have to see what happens here. If it starts to go towards CO. I will have to consider a move as well. If we can't win with N. va being so blue and the blacks voting against their best interests because they are blinded by Obama. If VA become DC south we will start to make hard decisions. East Texas starts to look real good.

Scott I did not take vows to honor and love and always remain in the great state of Virginia. I go where I choose. There are stares you could not pay me enough to live in. Part of fighting a battle is to know when you've lost and to retreat in time so that a better fighting position can be maintained. If we are to take back this nation we must be smart like Washington who gave up NY to stand tall in Yorktown not stupid like Custer who for ignorance and bravado died a horrible death.

Re: Election results thread
A little good news to take the edge off the sting.
1. GOP kept their majority in the Va House. This will hopefully keep the Dems at bay.
2. Mid-terms are just a year away. How much pain will Obamacare cause Virginians? A lot. Let's make sure the Dems own it.
And finally, we do have a (R) for Attorney General. So, no clean sweep for the (D)'s this time.

Hell, I've been saying this for years and people probably hate the fact I own guns for it. To put it simply, there needs to be blood spilled to get it back. That's the only way it worked before.DBJohnson wrote:...and who thinks the ballot box is still a viable option?

Call me extreme or crazy... but that's the fact of the matter.

I feel for for you. You aren't alone. I love VA. The scenery and the history. I also love TX and lived there a few years. I always get Misty eyed whenever I hear Amarillo by Morning by George Strait lol, but if I have it my way it would be Montana or North Dakota. The single thing I miss about NY is the snow.mamabearCali wrote:Scott I did not take vows to honor and love and always remain in the great state of Virginia. I go where I choose. I get to keep my NFA goodies, they are still free, and it's not so damn hot and humid.
I tried to defend this state since I got here. But instead, stupid people that left fallen States for the same reasons I did, don't learn.

Re: Election results thread
A lot of good points above me here. Rather than try to say something more, here are the salient points I see.
Standing and fighting does not mean a poster on your lawn. Get active. NRA-PVF is already gearing up for next year, lets do the same! Drop a dime, go to your (tea party/liberty/republican) meetings now, rather than later.
A war of attrition is a losing battle. We give them one more state if we run. If we continue to do that, we are talking removing 2A by amendment.
1984 (G. Orwell) is more relevant today than ever before.
We need a message that rings with the masses for the long term, like the democraps' message of "we give you poop". Not sure what is a good one, but maybe along the lines that we are going broke because we arent working, and while we cannot supply freebees, we certainly can develop the economy.
We retained Obenshain as Attorney General. This is very good as he will prosecute only where legal, rather than for agenda (hopefully).
We still have a majority in the legislature, so we can put a curb on crap.
The last one is an ugly one: one day we will have to refresh our trees.
Stay vigilant! I am stuck here for now, so I am doing what I can!
