I try to keep my stockpile(s) at a reasonable level, roughly 500 to 1000 rounds per weapon, but I did go a bit overboard on some of it. I think I have 3000 rounds of .22LR on the shelf. Need to go plinking soon and burn some of the older stuff up.

Anybody vacuum-packing their ammo?

It would surely have to be a wheelbarrow, but I'm shopping for sheets to cover it with. :packin:

I have enough for now and the ammo is getting easier to come by. I go to the range a couple of times a week and shoot 100+ rounds each time depending on what I am working on. It doesn't take too long to go through a case or two. I always have some on backorder so I am not too concerned. And now that you can find it in the stores cheaper than online, I am comfortable with what I have on hand.

Amazing how the recent ammo shortages have caused people to stockpile and/or rethink their shooting habits. For example until last Nov/Dec or whenever it first started to get scarce I shot easily as much .40 and .45 as 9mm in terms of rounds per year if not more. Since then I have shot very little .40, hardly any .45, and a whole lot of 9mm. Because it has been easiest to find.

I keep a minimum of 250 defensive rounds and 250 target rounds on hand for each or I dont shoot it. Same as always. Although when I find it I do stock up more than I used to. Had 3k rounds of 9mm on hand a couple months ago for the first time in my life.

Va. doesn't require gun registration, so I guess we're all exempt.

While it is true that this is a myth, I wouldn't be surprised to find something similar buried in the thousand-plus pages of the healthcare bill. After all, the libs consider guns in the home to be a threat to your health.

Oddly enough, politicians like Reid and Pelosi consider guns in the possession of the secret service to be a necessity to preserving their own health.

Too much is when your house catches fire and the "neighbor in the know" tells the firemen you have enough ammo, powder, and primers to equip a division of infantry.
