Register to Vote

I know most of you are already registered to vote, but for those of you who are not please do so! The link has all the information needed and it only takes five minutes. For those of you who are registered and want to sign up for absentee voting follow the link. Remember all VA state senators are up for reelection on November 8th. The last day to register to vote is October 17th.

Just got my voter registration card today! I've been registered to vote since I turned 18 but we just moved here recently.

I was a bit surprised to learn about the party system here. It seems local parties are not as strong as in other states while the statewide party wields the real power.

Yeah no, as long as there is jury duty attached to it I will not be voting. Also it's all meaningless thanks to the electoral college, so again until there is nothing attached and the system becomes "popular vote" not happening!

Registering to vote where I am puts you on the jury duty list. My brother and uncle are both registered voters and have been called to jury duty, my father and mother are not and have never been called. Neither have I and have no intent of having my time wasted on that BS! If they do happen to use other resources say drivers licenses then I do have a back up plan, I'll just dawn my confederate belt buckle and make a point for them to see it.

In a presidential election you are not voting for the candidate but the electors and these electors cast their vote for the candidates. Thus voting is practically meaningless as a candidates could win the popular vote but not become president.

As for the rest of the senators, congressmen, and house of reps well they'll put on a horse and pony show for the masses and you won't know what they're up to until they're in office and then it's too late. So why bother voting for them when they're going to do what they want anyway. Well unless you're a mind reader!

I registered to vote when I applied for and got my VA driver's license, which I got just as soon as I could prove Virginia residence.

I have exercised my franchise at every opportunity since I was able to, which for me was when I turned 21.

I have absolutely no respect for anyone that legally resides in this country, enjoys the rights and benefits of citizenship, but doesn't take on the responsibilities of that citizenship.

One thing I will say, if you don't vote then you have absolutely NO right to complain about our elected officials, laws you don't like, or anything else about how this country is run.

I am ideologically Libertarian, but wherever I live, I make sure that I change to Republican shortly before the Presidential Primaries so I can vote for Ron Paul.

In the General Election, I feel compelled not to vote for the "lesser of 2 evils" such as the McCain or Obama choice we had in 2008.

I proudly choose a candidate that may not have any chance of winning, but who is ideologically sound.

Well it has been changed a bit over the years, but I agree that it's not the problem. The problem is the fact that the American Sheeple Public is so easily led around by it's nose by the media.

The media keeps saying candidate X is crazy....or doesn't have a chance....and the sheeple follow suit. The media says "these are the front-runners" and the sheeple listen.

We as Americans have a duty to do more than just watch the news to get our information.

I don't believe what I'm hearing. The jury system is what ensures a fair trial, and how we decide on how justice is served.

Will you wait until you're on trial and all your fellow gun owners say "I don't want to waste my time on the BS" and the pinko liberals who agree to serve on your jury have no voice of reason from a gun owner, and they put you in prison for defending your family? Is that what it will take to change your mind?

The jury system is an important part of upholding justice in our Nation. If you think that's BS you need to read the Constitution and do a little reflection on your selfishness. It's not BS, it's the best system in any country in the world for upholding justice.
