I picked up an XD9 Subcompact recently, first firearm I've owned. Equipped it with Crimson Trace laser grips and a Streamlight TLR-3 rail light (for nightstand duty, otherwise it comes off for CCW).

and here's a target from my first visit to the range, 50 rounds at 15ft, semi-rapid fire. I love this gun!

Having just shucked out a chunk of change for a nice Galco holster, how does that laser grip affect the width of the grip? I normally carry my XD 9 at 1:00 in a modified Uncle Mike's sidekick IWB, but have the plastic holster which came with the gun and a thumb-break Galco, which both stays put and is way more comfortable than the other 2. As a laser on the rail is out of the question with these set-ups, the grip laser is definitely looking good. I was just wondering if it would make the grip too pudgy to work with the Galco.

I can't speak for the Galco, but I have an MTAC Minotaur IWB and don't find it too thick to carry.

It does add a little thickness, but not enough for me to worry about. I'd highly recommend the Crimson Trace grips.

Gork - it's good to have another Squid on-board. We're outnumbered by the army and marines so far here. Take a second to go to the following link and vote in the poll so we can play catch-up! Image

Now you're talkin'. I'm definitely interested in this laser, but as with any other modification, I want to kick the tires before buying it. Let me talk to a few friends and see if I can get a little range time with a similar setup. I appreciate it!
