Looks like the Akdal MKA 1919

It's an AR-15 in looks only. It's pretty much a dressed up semi auto shotgun.

But with a detachable box mag. That's a big selling point - and makes it a viable competitior to the Saiga. Especially for people used to ARs.RocKor wrote:It's an AR-15 in looks only. It's pretty much a dressed up semi auto shotgun.
Personally I think they're ugly and kind of dinky (bedazzled selector markings? Seriously?), but they're getting positive attention from some folks who know what they're talking about.

You are absolutely correct about the detachable magazine, I did forget that part. I was merely talking about its internals, from what I've seen of them in person, they're only cosmetically and somewhat ergonomically similar to the AR platform.Diomed wrote:But with a detachable box mag. I would agree with the statement that it is only cosmetically similar to an AR-15. It looks more like a modified benalli. I think the jury will be out on this thing for a while, I still prefer the saiga platform.

I'm curious whether the AR (Stoner) type system could accommodate shotshells.

That would be a cool thing to see. I wonder if anyone's ever really attempted to do that.Diomed wrote:I'm curious whether the AR (Stoner) type system could accommodate shotshells.

SPAS-15... Illegal to import thanks to the BATFE... it's a "Destructive Device" like the "Street Sweeper". As a matter of a fact? Same law tapped BOTH down!

Re: AR-15 platform 12 Gauge Shotgun

THIS T-14 .410 AR UPPER WILL DROP ON TO ANY ANY AR-15 LOWER AND JUST LIKE THAT, AN AR-15 .410 SHOTGUN. 20" BBL, A-2 MICROMETER ADJUSTABLE SIGHTS, AND AN A-3 REMOVEABLE CARRY HANDLE WITH A WEAVER STYLE FLAT TOP BELOW.
COMES WITH ONE 5 ROUND MAG. MAG FITS AND LOCKS INTO YOUR EXISTING MAG WELL.
HIGH CAP MAGS AVAILABLE SOON. HIGH QUALITY, LIGHT WEIGHTWEIGHT POLY-CARBON CONSTRUCTION.....THIS IS THE NEATEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD...

ORDER ON-LINE NOW!
ITEM # T14-UPPER..........................$349.99" at http://classicarms.us/semi-auto%20rifles.htm
It isn't a 12 gauge but using existing parts is mighty appealing.

The SPAS-15 is not a DD. Perhaps you're thinking of the USAS-12?Reverenddel wrote:SPAS-15... Illegal to import thanks to the BATFE... it's a "Destructive Device" like the "Street Sweeper". As a matter of a fact? Same law tapped BOTH down!![]()

Re: AR-15 platform 12 Gauge Shotgun
The SPAS-15 and USAS-12 are both piston operated guns, and that .410 upper is kinda cool, but I'd really like to see if anyone has made a DI-based, AR-style 12GA shotgun.
