Glock factory parts

Post by VBshooter »

Anyone know if Glock offers replacement of a slide with the original guns serial number on it? Found a large peice of side rail missing on my G23 and retired it till I get new slide..... After markets are available but I am wondering If Glock would allow a person to order one specific to their personal handgun with correct S/N?

I am not a Glock owner, but I would venture the guess they would want you to send it to them or one of their official service centers to make that happen.
You just have to ask yourself, is he telling you the truth based on knowledge and experience or spreading internet myths?

with the frame If you send it to them they will replace it with a "repaired" serial number. Same number with a prefix so as not to have a duplicate number. Since the slide is not legally the gun part they might just use the same number or replace the entire gun.

A glock failed! That's impossible because experts mall ninjas use glocks and they would never use anything that could fail! :hysterical:

Not everyone who owns a glock drinks the kool-aid. I have seen a few glock slides that have been dropped when off the gun and bent the rail portion. Its only as strong as steel. Strange to have it break like that on an area that sees little pressure. Does the gun still function?

Not really sure how it got broken. I didn't drop it or hit anything with it... Was putting back together and noticed the chunk of rail gone,,, Fatigue is a guess ,but even thats a maybe... A piece has broken out of the rail and there is about a 3/4" crack along the rail behind the broken area.. It may function but as my carry piece I won;t take a chance with it having a glitch in a crisis situation.. I have changed over to my Sig Sauer for carry and will replace the slide on the Glock ...Rather be sure of its performance than gamble with it...

I would give Glock a call as there is at least some chance they may replace it at at no cost.

Spent 30 minutes on HOLD and left a message out of frustration. They may call me back ( Yeah Right) I will try them again later today. When anyone calls with this type of request they patch you over to warranties wether its covered or not... Worse comes to worst I can purchase a Lone Wolf Custom Slide for the healthy price tag of $248.00,,It's only drawback besides price is the finish which to me takes away from the Glocks black out look.

That is weird, and I'm sorry to hear about your experience with them. Most reviews of their cs I'd read had been positive. I guess that's now always the case.

Thats definitly the thinnest part of the rail. That sucks for sure. I wasn't suggesting you actually still carry it just wondered if it would cycle by hand and what not. Take my advice and do not buy a lone wolf P.O.S. slide my brother bought me one for my g20 without researching opinions first and wow if it wasn't a gift i would have sent it back in an instant. The internal finish was horrible, like machined with a lopsided bit, and cut yourself sharp everywhere. Never has functioned properly.

Thanks for that Heads UP ...was looking at them/ Got a couple leads on Glock Factory (used) slides just have to follow em up.. Yeah it will still cycle and shoot if necessary..My thoughts are if it even got close to misaligning while cycling it might take the frame out too
