Air Force Raids Nevada Gun Store

LAS VEGAS -- The U.S. Air Force led a rare raid against a Las Vegas gun shop Friday afternoon. Investigators removed pieces of evidence and took several people into custody.

The initial raid lasted less than an hour.

"These guys were in full get-up, automatic weapons," said Bahama Mamas manager Joe Gold.

Armored SWAT tanks, officers carrying machine guns, K-9s, the FBI, ATF, and the U.S. Air Force made a grand entrance at the business park on Dean Martin Drive near Flamingo Road.

Heavy on action and light on information, investigators remained tight-lipped about the warrants served at the Citadel Gun and Safe store and an unoccupied building behind it.

I suspect a good bit of inaccurate reporting here. I understand this store has not sold firearms for more than a year.

If Air Force property was there then maybe but the only AF personnel present should have been OSI and they would have been dressed in civies...

The report and video are full of inaccurate information "Armored SWAT tanks" appear to be a vehicle that would be classified an Armored Car. Automatic weapons? You would have to be within 5-10 feet to tell whether an M4 is in fact an M4 and not a Colt Patrol rifle. The Air Force personnel may not have been leading the operation, they may have been there to identify, inspect and handle any hazardeous material/equipment that was stolen or recovered from the Air Force Base. The reporting on this event was pretty poor.
