born in Richmond, Virginia... I have lived on Lake Gaston (the VA side) my entire life.
Married with a little boy on the way

Sidearm wise... I am a big fan of Gaston Glock. His sidearms are paramount and legendary, especially the 17... enough said.
I love my American firearms as well. My first SHOT fired was a .410 Winchester single shot my great grandpa put meat on the table with. MY first gun was a Winchester 94AE .30-30.
AK's are cool... they are what they are. But, I live in America. So my heart lies with OUR GREAT AMERICAN Rifle: The AR platform
Any variation is awesome... .223, 5.56, 7.62mm, 6.5, 6.8spc you name it... its ROBUST (properly maintained), accurate, hard hitting, and versatile. My heart goes out to the 5.56 nato round given my keep it simple rationale...
But, I LOVE... LOVE my Remington 700's.
I also study unarmed defensive tactics. My heart lies with the Gracie family. I have studied under some professional kick-boxing champions and picked up some ground game from some excellent wrestlers. Studied under some Brazilian Jitsu champs as well... I really can appreciate the art of a submissions specialist more than any other discipline in terms of practical, everyone can do this stand point of view. And keeping with the 'keep it simple' once again, I feel Helio Gracie had it figured out. Although MMA has taken a great bit of my time, if I reverted to ONE discipline it would be Gracie Jiu Jitsu. Unarmed vs. Armed tactics has recently (but always been aware of it...) taken my heart after a knife and gun incident last year.. which I was unarmed and testified in Court to.. You can NEVER be to prepared.
I prefer the adage and retain its knowledge: "Learn with your ears, not your mouth...."
I am 25 years old, and I LOVE my Commonwealth of Virginia and MY Country. I am as American as they come and proud of it!
I always check my ego at the door.... And I ALWAYS respect and honor my elder(s).
