I went to Dick's Sporting Goods in Fair Lakes yesterday, 7/10/09, and saw several boxes at $14.99 each 50-round box. However, no .45s in stock except for reloads in value pack box.

They had 9mm, .45, .44mag, .40 and .223 last time I went a couple weeks ago. I think they have a 3 or 5 box limit. IMO that Dicks is a good place to watch for ammo and also shotgun specials.

The clerk asked my how many boxes I would like. No mention of limits. Good price for FMJs considering the scarcity of supply.

OK, read message at 1645hrs, headed over to Dick's in Fair Lakes; completely sold out of 9mm. The only new ammo they had was Remington FMJ's in .40 caliber (6boxes), and the god-awful "UltraMax" reloaded/remanufactured (i.e. smokey ammo that will have you cleaning your gun for an hour) stuff. If anyone is interested Dick's had the UltraMax (4boxes each, of 250ct/rounds a box in 9mm, .40 and .45 caliber - ranging from about $65 to $70 a box. Pretty much the same story with SD rounds - price-wise Hornady 9mm (6boxes on shelf) was $25; and most other calibers were about the same as range prices for SD.

Spoke to a manager at Dick's; another full truck shipment is expected on Tues/Weds - this will include ALL the other stuff that Dicks' carries, and NO guarantees that there will be ammo. He actually stated that he would be surprised if there was ammo on this shipment/inventory, as it has been so scarce lately; and that this week's shipment was a surprise for the store.

I was told to call at 0930hrs on Tues and Weds of this coming week to confirm if any ammo was on the truck. Will gladly post up any new inventory here once confirmed ammo-shipments are recieved by Dick's.

NRA range has Remington 9mm FMJ's at $20/box 50rds; little pricey, but Blue Ridge is selling (and I am a member) at $24/box same ammo as NRA - sign of the times.....

Dicks in Fair Lakes has had ammo every time I've gone in the last few months. They always seem to have a little of something. I havent tried any of the ultramax. I have some but havent sent any down range yet.
