1. Fluvanna Planning Commission hearing on sporting clay range TONIGHT2. Gun owners need to call so that Maryland reciprocity bill (HB 9) will be heard3. Pneumatic gun bill has passed both House and Senate and is headed to Governor's desk

*****************************************************1. Fluvanna Planning Commission hearing on sporting clay range TONIGHT*****************************************************

Reminder: there is a Fluvanna County Planning Commission hearing tonight, Wednesday, February 23rd, at 7 PM. The hearing will be held at the Fluvanna County Community Center, 5725 James Madison Highway, just north of Fork Union Military Academy.

The Planning Commission is considering a recommendation dealing with the Central Virginia Sporting Clays (CVSC) modifying its shooting range. There is a small group of vocal citizens who are trying to tank the range, so we need a good turnout to counter them.

The range has been a good neighbor and we need more ranges, not less.

I'll arrive around 6:30 PM to hand out "Guns Save Lives" stickers. See you there!

*****************************************************2. Gun owners need to call so that Maryland reciprocity bill (HB 9) will be heard*****************************************************

A few weeks ago we did an email blast to some Delegates in Maryland to show support for House Bill 9. HB 9 would make Virginia Concealed Handgun Permits valid in Maryland!

The hearing was held in January, but the bill has not yet been called up for a vote (the Maryland Legislature does things a little differently than the Virginia Legislature, which would have voted on the bill as soon as the hearing was over).

If the bill is never called for a vote in committee it will die.

So, let's make sure our voices are heard!

You need to call Chairman Joe Vallario at 410-841-3488 and **politely** tell him that you support HB 9 and would like it reported from committee.

*****************************************************3. Pneumatic gun bill has passed both House and Senate and is headed to Governor's desk*****************************************************

Senator Reynolds' SB 757, which allows pneumatic guns to be fired on private property if done so with the property owner's permission and in a safe manner, has now passed both the House and Senate and is headed to the Governor's desk. Once signed, the bill will become effective on July 1, freeing gun owners in Fairfax County and other locations from more unreasonable gun control!

If you would like to contact the Governor and urge him to sign SB 757, click here:

Subject:

Please sign SB 757!

Message:

Please sign SB 757, which would remove any local restrictions on gun owners being allowed to shoot air guns on their own property as long as they do so in a safe manner.
