It was a nice gathering but I was disappointed to see the lack of ethnic diversity.

When 99.999999999 of all African Americans voted for Obama, it is no surprise that they are a no show at an event like this. After all, the majority of Americans, white or black, educated in our union dominated public schools do not even know that it is the House of Representatives in Congress that originate all spending. People Blame Bush and in the future Obama on this problem and the House skates.

What I did see are several folks from India, West Africa, Ethiopia, England, Colombia, Vietnam, Other parts of Asia. These folks have seen Socialist governments first hand.

If I were to count actual African Americans I would say ten showed up. 12 percent of the population, with no real desire for this fight... yet.

Snowpea, you may be influenced by our Liberal Media to care about false diversity instead of Americans as Americans first. We are all Americans and the sooner that we start to think that way, the sooner we will solve our problems. The left divides us all into groups and promises us solutions for our own particular problems. But if they ever solved them, they would lose their constituency group by group.

Conservatives think the glass is half full, Liberals see one full glass and several empty glasses that need filled.

I also think for the blacks it is they see it as going against their race to oppose Obama and his bad policies,,,If it was a specific black or hispanic problem they would be out there in force, But not with us , Sad to say we have let the political machine seperate us into voting groups that want their agendas up front and allowed them to cater to whoever they feel is needed for a election,,It will probably take a major screwing to get them motivated enough to help once it's realized that Obama is not their freind and all that promised free stuff has a very high price indeed,

Guess I should have walked around more, from where I was I only saw 1 black person and a few asian people. A major part of our country is made up of non-white people. I am being a realist when I hope for a more diverse population of americans to be interested in this. Because realistically many races will side with their own and if a more diverse population is heard on these matters then maybe it would be more effective. Have you ever been in a community of african-americans or puerto ricans who are talking/living amongst themselves? I lived in an inner-city slum for 5 years (ain't love grand) and let me tell you, racism is hugely present. And I think politicians are more sensitive to it now.

IMO racism will continue for as long as we have programs protecting and promoting special treatment for "minorities." Some of these programs may have been needed once upon a time, but I think we need to move on. We are all Americans and deserve fair, just, and equal treatment. I'm with Dr. King -
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

I found this article to be enlightening on the subject,,And sadly, it does seem to play into the thinking of today. This article was written by a black journalist and does hit on some things to consider,I agree that its gonna be a hard nut to crack to get everyone on board as long as Uncle Sugar is promising endless goodies to the masses that are swayed by that type of socialist propoganda,
Knowing history is important, obviously, and all this makes for good reading. But I need to break it you: blacks who vote for Democrats do not care about this history. The only bit of history they care about is the one that provides excuses and finger-pointing opportunities: ancestors in bondage, great-grandparents and grandparents struggling to gain first class citizenship in this country, etc. They don’t care who did what to or for whom in the past. All they care about is who’s offering them the most goodies today.
