help w/ px4 storm
hello every1...
im a rookie here and I just purchased my first pistol from greentop today(9mm px4 storm).. haven't had a chance to go to the range yet but I like the feel of the gun. my question is why after the sixth bullet its so hard to load the rest? the last 2 got my thumbs sore.. is this normal on a new gun or am I doing something wrong?
thanx..

Spring tension in the magazine, it's easy to put in the first few rounds but the more you load in the magazine the harder it gets to load the next one. Normal even with an older magazine, although it should get a little easier. You have to compact the spring to get the rounds in. Get a loader it'll make it easier. It's a little plastic piece that slides over the top of the magazine and compresses the spring enough to get the next round started. Much easier than using you thumb.

You may even have gotten one with your pistol. It'll look something like the picture.

Yep, I'm never wrong. Thought I was once but I was mistaken.
Do you carry those Rick? I found the pic elsewhere. If you have them maybe you could give him a link. It doesn't have to be beretta, just has to be either single or double stack and the right caliber.

I have quite a few speedloaders, but none that look like that. Most are manufactured by HKS. I checked the HKS website and I don't see one specifically for the PX-4. They all seem to be fairly model specific.

and here's a link to the speedloaders I have in stock:

Then one I posted, although made by Beretta, is kinda a generic/universal loader. Inside is a tab that hangs down from the top which compresses the spring enough to get another round started. It just slides over the top of the magazine, as long as the magazine fits inside it usually works. Mine is similar but made by CZ. I use it to load a CZ, a Taurus, and a SCCY, in 2 different calibers.
The HKS loaders look like they wrap around the magazine and lock on so they'd have to be made for a specific gun and caliber.

You'll get a number of answers when asking about what ammo to use. For target practice it most will use FMJ that feeds reliably through their particular gun. Some guns can be finicky about what you put through them. For SD I use Speer Gold Dot 115 grain JHP.
