Quick range report: CZ RAMI BD (9mm)

Recently put 150 rounds through my new RAMI BD. Flawlessly. A bit snappy given the 3" barrel but easy to get used to. LOVED how well it pointed and shot. I was putting 2-3" groups at 7 yards and 3-4" at 10 yards. Shoots more accurately than my Sig P229 in .40 S&W but not as gently (of course). I wanted to bond with my RAMI and so far A+. I blew through all 14 rounds in the extended magazine at 7 yards and quickly punched-out a 4-5" group and the range guy came over and said "that has a 3" barrel!?!" I let him handle it and he was very impressed with ergonomics and capacity, night sites, etc.

Okay, the trigger is a bit gritty, especially DA, but maybe I can get a gunsmith to clean it up and I hear it will likely get better with use.

Looks like it is well on its way to being my CCW.

Looks like a very sweet gun! I would expect the trigger to break in. Maybe a night of dry fire is in order.

Finally met up with my oldest friend, a former FBI Academy firearms instructor (and special agent) at an outdoor range near Fredericksburg. Put about 400 rounds through the RAMI, all types of ammo, including my WalMart crappy ammo, FBI bonded high-grain hollowpoints, golden sabre hollow points, FBI FMJ training rounds, +P+ hollow points, and other miscellaneous rounds he had collected over the past year for range time. A grand total of one FTF, misfeed on the first round in a magazine shortly after we started, and I likely did a bad/short slide rack. Not a single issue afterwards, and the gun was filthy by the end, and hot.

He really liked shooting it, and from his point of view, can be deemed fully reliable (now has about 700 rounds through it). Also shot a few hundred rounds of widely different types/weights of rounds through my Sig229, and not suprisingly, no issues. I do enjoy shooting my RAMI more though. He also confirmed that my Sig night sights are misadjusted as the pistol consistently shoots 4-6" low at 10 yards. So, need taller rear sights, which I'll order and he'll swap-out.

Lastly, put 50 rounds through his MP5, 10mm, though in single-shot mode. Fantastic day, until I had to clean both pistols!
