Nice pistol, congrats. It's a great value overlooked by many.

How much was that beast, and how much does it weigh empty and dry?

I truly believe that no gun has greater egros than the 1911.

egros? I'm afraid you've used a word my lexicon doesn't include. What does that mean?

I think he meant ergonomics.
Ergonomics is the study of designing equipment and devices that fit the human body, its movements, and its cognitive abilities.

The International Ergonomics Association defines ergonomics as follows:[1]

Ergonomics (or human factors) is the scientific discipline concerned with the understanding of interactions among humans and other elements of a system, and the profession that applies theory, principles, data and methods to design in order to optimize human well-being and overall system performance.

By the way, congrats on the Taurus. They really are underrated! I bought one recently myself, and took it up the mountain to try out (along with 3 others I hadn't fired yet) Saturday. Of the four ( Auto Ordinance 1911A1 100 year anniversary version, Remington R-1, Smith & Wesson SW1911, and the Taurus PT 1911) the Taurus was the best shooting pistol. I expected the S&W to be the best of the bunch, but it failed to feed once and failed to lock once out of 3 mags emptied. The Auto Ordinance was a better pistol than IO expected it to be (in fact, for the money, it may be unbeatable). But then word is Kahr has improved quality since they bought A-O.
