HR.2202 is proposed gun legislation that might (note I say might) be beneficial to us gun owners. It proposes a maximum $300 tax credit per tax year to gun owners who purchase a safe for storage of firearms. There is also a clause that states:

Use of Information- No database identifying gun owners may be created using information from tax returns on which the credit under this section is claimed.

I've posted a link below. Take a look and see what you think. It's currently sitting in a House sub-committee where it will probably stay unless it gets traction. If you think it wise to support then feel free to contact your representatives and ask them to get behind it. Note: bear in mind that proposed legislation often changes as it moves through the system. My major concern here would be removal of the Use of Information clause above.
