Smoking Gun Range in Colonial Heights
Made the trip down from Richmond yesterday. I've been a patron of Dominion in Richmond for a few months now. It's a decent place. It's clean and most of the folks there (Dominion) are friendly and helpful. The prices are fair and I've even used their transfer service which is the best price in town. Anyway, I wanted to shoot a few different weapons and calibers this time. Considering you must purchase their (Dominion) ammo, I thought it time to visit Smoking Gun. The place is much smaller but just as clean. The people there are every bit as friendly. I even had a few conversations with fellow shooters. Their hours are a bit shorter than Dominion which I have to believe hurts their business. For the most part they are only open during regular business hours. There were never more than 3 people shooting at a time. I had planned to visit on Thursday. Thankfully I called ahead and was told they were closing an hour earlier (6pm) than the flier list. I plan to return when I want to shoot different calibers using my own ammo. Even with the cost of gas. There is a savings to be had going to The Smoking Gun.

Nice & Bright, I go there when I've got alot of my own ammo to shoot. I don't go there often but nice being able to see what your shooting at! (vs Dominion)
