Keltec-Constant Innovators(New Shotgun)
Re: Keltec-Constant Innovators(New Shotgun)
The incorporation of the rail was almost inevitable. It allows you to pick the sights/ optic you want. After all you can even get a railed up side by side:

Keltec understands it can't go into markets that are already flooded like The AR15/M4s or the M1911s. They just aren't going to be taken serious. I am surprised they haven't come out with something like the Crossfire Rifle/ Shotgun Combo.

With a projected MSRP of $880, i would assume that the shelf price would be around $600ish? But not sure that the gun justify's a price like that, sure it looks cool, but not to sure about a plastic 12ga.

My complaint against the rail is that the irons are flip up. I don't like flip up front sights on ARs either; IMHO they are trouble. I have a fixed front sight on all of my ARs. There should be a rail, but I would prefer a fixed front sight at the very least.grumpyMSG wrote:The incorporation of the rail was almost inevitable. It allows you to pick the sights/ optic you want. Well you could always put on some DD irons. Don't you have those on your AR?gunderwood wrote:My complaint against the rail is that the irons are flip up. I think this will be a very popular shotgun. It's shortness is it's strength and is what allows the gun to be more effectively used from vehicles, in buildings, and in other close combat type situations. The high shell capacity is a big plus too.

the high shell capacity will probably eventually be blocked by legislation.

Except for that little issue with the trigger...Chasbo00 wrote:I think this will be a very popular shotgun. Hmm, I had not heard about that. Interesting to know. Thanks for posting that little update lol.Diomed wrote: Except for that little issue with the trigger...
That's a bizarre idea.... LEOs have access the "slam-fire" variant while civilians don't... hmm.

If the opportunity to pull and hold a trigger, while racking the slide is really that appealing to you, just pick up a used Model 12 or 1897 Winchester shotgun. Neither of them come with disconnectors.

Wow! They need to fix this. A trigger that does not reset is beyond bad.Diomed wrote:Except for that little issue with the trigger...Chasbo00 wrote:I think this will be a very popular shotgun. I wouldn't "jump the gun" on this. It' s only one source and we are still talking about prototypes. Who knows what the finalized version will look like but perhaps they can get this issue sorted. I never heard of Keltec doing anything for LEOs only. I don't know why they would start now.Chasbo00 wrote:Wow! They need to fix this. It's not that it's really that appealing to me, I was just puzzled as to why Kel-Tec might choose to omit that capability.grumpyMSG wrote:PawnQuixote wrote:Hmm, I had not heard about that. When the major manufacturers deleted slamfire capability from their shotguns in the '80s they all cited liability concerns.PawnQuixote wrote:It's not that it's really that appealing to me, I was just puzzled as to why Kel-Tec might choose to omit that capability.

That short and 14 shots? Why didn't they make it semi-auto?
And, by the way, who the hell needs sights on a shotgun?
