Police are giving away $500 for each arrest of someone carrying an illegal weapon in West Palm Beach. I wonder what constitutes an illegal weapon? From the article it seems if the person isn't authorized to carry its illegal. I thought FL had some fairly lax controls. So what if I'm an armed citizen legally carrying a gun and someone calls me in? Do I get hog tied until they determine I'm ok?

The southern Florida beach towns are worried about keeping the northern tourist dollars flowing in and will pull stunts to keep them coming. I've lived in Astor and Gainesville FL and it was a world of difference. I had a couple of FTF transactions with local law enforcement personnel and even had entire office range days (even though only a few of us owned firearms).
