BTW, my Dad says the same kind of thing you do--"too old to fight and too tired to run". And may deer within 50 miles fear the business end of your rifle for years to come.

Thanks Everyone. If I knew I was gonna live this long I would have took better care of myself.
Yesterday came within a knats ass of being my last. I was shooting my .44 mag and it almost turned from hand cannon to handgrenade. I was removing the empties from the cylinder and noticed one had alot of unburnt powder in it. I took the cylinder out and found about 1/2" of powder in the barrel. Got that out and there was a 240 grain hollow point futher on up the barrel. I have no clue how it happened but am glad it happened on the 6th shot.

Henry with as bad as you flinch shooting your .44 Mag. you should have known when it only fired the primer in that shell or did the slug and powder just fall out of the shell. Nice crimp job or resizeing job or did you make a load over top of a dead primer.

Re: Happy Birthday, Henry!
Dang, that was close. Powder in the barrel? Clearly the primer went off, but the powder not lighting up? The only way I can imagine that happening is if the powder somehow got wet or oiled up. Good catch, man.

A non-magnum primer with certain powders commonly used in big bore revolvers can do that too.CowboyT wrote:Dang, that was close. Powder in the barrel?
