Digg...Is it just me
Digg...Is it just me
It seems to me that the Digg widget thingamabob is slowing down various pages when loading. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yup, once or twice I notice it seems to hang when waiting for those URLs...Yarddawg wrote:It seems to me that the Digg widget thingamabob is slowing down various pages when loading. Has anyone else noticed this?

Re: Digg...Is it just me
I've noticed the site being slow on several occasions lately, but never paid much attention to which links were causing it.

Lately when it has been slow, I look at the status bar and it says something to the effect of waiting for site digg.com, and I noticed that the icon for digg is not loading.

I'll look at this and will adjust, if necessary. I haven't noticed a problem on my laptop, so thank you for pointing it out.

How about now? I copied the javascript to my local server, so there shouldn't be any connection to digg.com when the topic page loads.

I used to see similar errors over at VaGunTrader.com before they went to a new server hosting company.

Re: Digg...Is it just me
That's what I call the "End of the month" error. Caused by a site that has outgrown its bandwidth quota at their hosting company. In other words, they served out their limit of data for the month, and their host shut them down. It's pretty common on cheaper limited hosting plans.speezack wrote:Ever see this message...
