Dogs with Guns
Dogs with Guns
Saturday morning pop quiz. Trigger and I were having an important discussion this morning and neither of us could remember the short blocky sleepy eyed dog wearing a tall Texas hat and holster from Saturday morning cartoons (back in the day). Spoke kinda slow and I think he was a sherif. We celebrated her birthday yesterday and now we're both showing our age.

Huckelberry Hound was also on around the same time, but didn't have the hat. Droopy was a Banana Split.

Wow! You guys are fast! Got pulled away for breakfast duty.zephyp wrote:I wanna say Droopy but not sure...
I was sure it was Droopy, but he's not as blocky as I recall. Trigger says no. Maybe if I found a pic with a hat.
Here's a link. Not sure how to insert an image.

Not Deputy Dawg. Had a tall white (as I recall) 10-gallon type hat.WRW wrote:Deputy Dawg?

Re: Dogs with Guns
Ok, I've spent waay to much time on this. I believe zephyp was correct with Droopy, just depends on the time period drawn. That first picture with the belly dragging wasn't right, but this one with his chest out looks right. If I could just find one with the 10 gallon hat I'm sure I could convince Trigger it was Droopy.

Re: Dogs with Guns
The "Dogs with Guns" query is finally resolved. The dog I remember is "Deputy Droopy" as revealed in the video. I loved this cartoon as a kid and it's still funny. Thanks so much for posting the video.

Re: Dogs with Guns
And I think Huckleberry Hound sometimes hung around with Quick Draw or was he just on the same cartoon network...
