Castle Doctrine in TN signed into law

It would be great to be able to protect your property and life without having to analyze the legalities in a stressful enough situation,,,,,

Yes, its quite a lot of BS. Too bad we are forced to sit in the far corner of our house retreated while a criminal ransacks everything and we cant shoot them for fear of becoming the criminal ourselves - unless they approach our position and threaten deadly force that we can prove beyond a shadow of doubt later - to a jury - who may or may not agree with us - and then - have some scumbags family come after us with a civil suit !!!!!!

In the meantime -
You will be detained for questioning
You may be detained further if the shooting appears questionable
You will loose the gun used until released back to you
You will spend time in court
You will spend money for a lawyer
You will loose time from work
You will be ridiculed
You will be hounded by the media
You will be treated like a criminal
The list goes on...

Apologies for the rant. This is one of my pet peeves. It seems that the moment a crime is committed the criminal gets more rights and you loose yours - unless you happen to be a law-abiding citizen and unwittingly or unintentionally break the law - then you the bad guy.

I agree that is long overdue in Virginia. TN has voted for concealed carry in restaurants that serve alcohol and castle doctrine, all in 2009. I wish they would send a few of their elected representatives to Richmond. We could sure some them

Hey zephyp, Don't sweat the rant , I get spun up really good about this myself, Hiding in a corner waiting for some dirt ball to come and threaten me is not in my nature either. I checked on Wikepedia and even tight ass states like New Jersey, Massachussetts and Rhode Island have a Castle Doctrine law on the books , You can barely get a gun in those states but you can protect your property and life in your own home there,,,, There are only 4 states and Washington DC that do not have some form of it,,,So I know what I am gonna ride my reps butts about next session!!!!!!

I've been looking into the same thing in the NE TN area. The real estate market is deader than a popcorn fart out there, which means that prices are looking pretty good.
