400 grain .50cal Beowulf round
I'm in a hurry now - will post a pic of the rifle with a round as per the Drill Sergent's orders soon.

Nice picture. How did you get that round to stand up sideways like that?

Looks a lot like .45/70 without the rim. What kind of velocity do you get with that?

How'd I get the bullet to do that? Crushed up a Viagra and had it loaded with the regulation powder load - - How else?

I don't have any experience with it so I don't know if those velocities are accurate or not. If they are it is a semi-auto .45/70 +P...sweet.dorminWS wrote:As to velocities/ballistics, see below:

It can stop a car! What more could you want from a close range system?

I think it me be pretty close kin to the .45-70, as a matter of fact. It's even sweeter than you know, because it looks like the ammo for the Beowulf can be had for something less than half of what the .45-70 +P is going for judging by what I pulled up on the net. Good thing, too; since you can burn it up so fast. Trouble is, nobody makes it but Alexander Arms, and it is hard to get. But I understand they have recently added some manufacturing capacity.
