The rut is really hot right now and the bucks are letting their guard down. Shot this 4 point this afternoon at 4:00 at 25 yards.

Still not sure if I'm going to be able to make it down for a hunt..my guess is probably not. I can't seem to get a free minute to pick my nose, let alone run off for a weekend of adventure.

Well Rick the offer stands any time you can make it. You should'a seen the one I lost yesterday morning. Nice big rack, huge deer. I watched him tend a scrape, he beat the overhanging branches, racked back the dirt then squatted and pee'd in it. He took about three steps and I shot him. Good blood trail for close to a mile ( yes I said mile ) then it was like he disappeared. My back was bothering me this morning so I didn't go out but DK made it so hopefully he'll be back in a while to get me to drag one out with my 4-wheeler.

Not today. No deer in the bottom that I saw though I'm sure one or two were lurking around somewhere. I did have a big fat squirrel climb up a tree next door with a big acorn in its mouth....it must a been real happy cause it was purring pretty loud. I never knew they could do that. Had them bark and fuss at me plenty of times but this one actually purred like a big cat...

Btw Henry, nice one...so last week it was one point, this week two, maybe next week we can drag out a 6 pointer...
