My new CZ

Post by gregj »

I've been lusting for one for almost 2 years now. I finally decided to take the dive, and bought a CZ 75B SA Target. I've not taken it to the range yet, hopefully tomorrow at lunch, but this thing is sooooo freakin smooth. This is going to be my new IDPA/ESP gun. Anybody want to buy an XDm ?

The first pic lists the things that it comes with straight from the Custom Shop.

It also comes with two targets from the Custom Shop. The second target shows the grouping of the SA prior to the CS work, the first target is AFTER the CS work. Both targets are 5 shots at 25M.

Congrats on the new toy!!!
:lovegunporn:
Boy that trigger looks funky on that thing, Maybe you ought to wait and see how it shoots for you, before you go sellin' the old pistol...
You just have to ask yourself, is he telling you the truth based on knowledge and experience or spreading internet myths?

Congrats.

Those CZ 75 single actions are sweet. Probably the best target gun in that price range. The triggers are well known to be fantastic. If you don't mind, what kind of a deal did you get on it?

Thanks gunderwood. I got it from Damascus Gun Shop, they had a table next to Dark Sun at the Dulles show. The best I could get the dealer to come down to was $1050. Looking at GB, this price was still pretty good. They only get maybe 2 of these a year from CZ. The price on CZ Custom Shop is $1099, plus shipping and transfer fees.

Grumpy, I have to agree the trigger may look a little odd, but it probaby feels better than just about any 1911. It's a proven design, by a proven artist. http://angushobdell.com/

Thought I would follow up with a range report. Some coworkers and I went to Sharpshooters today during lunch. I put 200 rounds through the CZ, and after the first 5, I knew I was in love with this thing. The trigger pull is smooth, clean, with a crisp break, nice short reset, fit in my hand was perfect.

Below are a couple of targets from today. The targets are printed on standard letter size paper. The one on the left is my very first 20 rnds (my reloads) through the CZ at 7 yrds. The pic on the right is towards the end of the session, at 5 yrds. I was starting to make two rapid shots to the center and one to the head. Shot placement is a little to the left. I've drifted the rear sight and will see how it works this weekend. But this thing is definately a keeper!!!!

Congrats on a superb pistol acquisition Greg. I hope to see it in the flesh at an IDPA match soon.
