Basil Marceaux - Is this guy for real?

In case you're not familiar with the name, Basil Marceaux is running for Governor in Tennessee. To say that this guy marches to the beat of his own drum is an understatement.

Watch the videos in this article from Hot Air and decide for yourself. I really want to like this guy, but I can't help wondering if it's all just cleverly crafted B.S.

Hmmmm... I'm having a hard time believing he was sober in that first one. He looked a little tipsy. Though, I do give him props for not having to read notes / talking points from the palm of his hand.

As bad as that was, he really isn't much worse than Obama without a teleprompter.

I watched another vid where he was a guest on a tv show. Much better composed. I think the ad was scripted by someone else who convinced him it was good. Given the current choices we have this guy might get my vote unless I could find something smelly in the background.

I actually have not watched an Obama speech of any sort since the inauguration - just don't see the point in wasting time like that.
