National Park Carry Signed into Law effective 22 Feb 2010

Post by allingeneral »

On Wednesday, NRA-backed legislation to restore the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens in national parks and wildlife refuges passed in the U.S. House of Representatives by an overwhelming bipartisan majority of 279-147. Today, the measure was signed into law and, as specified in the legislation, will take effect in nine months, on February 22, 2010. This was a major repudiation of the gun control community's anti self-defense agenda.

They had a small piece about the bill on CNN the other day. They began talking about the messiah signing the bill to allow concealed carry in the parks then showed a picture of an AK-47.

Why does it take 9 months(or sometimes longer) for these laws to take effect? They don't need to set up a dept. and staff it. The law just restores our 2nd amendment rights that we're unjustly taken away.

I don't understand the delay, why not effective now, it's been signed it's the law.

I am glad it passed there are certain areas I drive through that I have to worry about, this will sure make it easier.

Lucky for us there are delays built into the system. When they pass anti-gun legislation it gives us more time to...[fill in the blank]... These delays can work for us too.
No more catchy slogans for me...I am simply fed up...4...four...4...2+2...
