TX Considers Allowing Handguns on College Campus

Post by OakRidgeStars »

A bill to allow concealed handgun permit holders to carry on college campuses has cleared it's first hurdle in the Texas legislature. This will surely trigger a thermonuclear firestorm from the anti-gun crowd, in spite of Texas' legendary pro-gun history.

So, do you think this could really happen?. Will the tragedy at VT galvanize the citizens 2A rights, or will it be used as a anti-gun propaganda tool?.

Of course VT will be used as an example by both sides. The problem with the anti's argument is that allowing licensed carry on campus won't increase the chances of another VT. The same as their argument using VT to end the "gun show loophole." As we all know, that guy didn't buy guns from a gun show or a private seller. He had the background checks done to get them.

Anti's will squeal loudly to anyone who will listen until this either passes or fails. If it passes they will continue to squeal until the general public sees that they are full of crap, probably 2 or 3 years from now when it's demonstrated that blood won't be running all over the campus.
