Dirt bike/motorcycle w huge tires and hollow wheels?

Post by nickf829 »

I was watching Pawn Stars not long ago and there was a dirt bike/motorcycle with giant tires mounted on hollow steel wheels that were used to hold gasoline so that it could go practically anywhere, for a long time. Ever see one of these locally? Seems like it could be great for if SHTF and those dry storage wheels could be great to haul tons of gear or tons of gas. I didn't catch the name of the bike, but I'm sure somone has heard of them, I would be interested into looking into one of these if anyone has more info.

Your talking about the Rokon, its an off road bike designed for way back in the sticks, as I remember the old mans had a top speed about 35. great ground clearence, tho. wheels could double as a storage tank for extra fuel, they even offered for awile a side car type of rig .

Haven't seen any for awhile, but they where still in biss in late 90's early 2000 bike was being offered with an updated Kawisaki engine
