Ignore the facts and testimony, gun control is good!

Post by novasig226r »

I love the Internet and wish I could thank Al Gore for inventing it. It's amazing what one can find while cruising through the 'Net. I'm sure these videos below have been posted before, but I love them and perhaps someone hasn't seen then.

Cindy Handler, writing in the Huffington Post in July 2009, wrote a lovely bit about gun control. In that post, she attempts to convince (or at least rant) that gun control makes sense and attempts to use a logic to make her point. More one-sided mouth flapping and ignorance of common sense and plain, hard facts.
Coburn and Crabill think of themselves as patriots above all else, but I have to break it to them and their ilk: What's unique about our nation, and the reason it's thrived for over 200 years, is that we are a nation of laws, and we share a commitment to upholding the mutually agreed upon legal process. After all, the Gaza Strip has been awash with guns in the past; so have a great number of African nations. But I don't envy their occupants their liberty.
(emphasis mine, and I love how people use the word "ilk" to describe folks with whom they disagree.)

She's saying that we follow the "legal process" and that we are a "nation of laws". Strange that she's ignoring that the Constitution is the Law, and the 2A is included in that package deal that we have "mutually agreed upon".

Penn and Teller said it best, and I present you a clip from their Showtime series named Bulls!%t.

How could anyone not listen to, or simply dismiss outright, Suzanna Gratia Hupp's personal experience?

It's funny how many gun control advocates decry guns and gun violence only to find out that they, themselves, have never had anything bad (like having a loved one murdered) happen to them. It's easy to demonize guns (and their law-abiding owners) when one hasn't been a victim. It's funny how they use the tragedy of a child killing himself or a friend to advocate gun control, when they should have focused on why the gun owner left it in a place for a child to put his hands on it. It's easy to say that guns are easily obtained by anyone, but dismiss the reasons this is so: current laws not being enforced, and saying we need more laws. It's easy to say that guns in restaurants/parks/forests/etc will cause gunfights when/if tempers flair, despite the fact that these gunfights haven't happened yet. It's easy to say "you can't have guns", yet allow one's self to have them for protection (Feinstein, O'Donnell, etc.)

To gun control advocates everywhere, why are your rights to free speech, assembly, religion, and due process worth more than my right to keep and bear arms? If you don't like the second amendment, or believe it applies only to the government, then I say no more freedoms for anyone and then we'll all be equal. Equally enslaved by those who choose to ignore the law and use that to exert power and authority over us all.

(Oh, and you've got to love Jackie Mason's "everyman" approach.)

(Yes, the title of this post is sarcasm. In case anyone missed that.)

I'm sure Ms Hupp upset a lot of folk with her testimony...I'm also sure alot yawned too. The bottom line is the antis in power dont care about the Constitution. Only their precious J-O-B which is more truly a D-U-T-Y to we the people.
No more catchy slogans for me...I am simply fed up...4...four...4...2+2...

I did not know that Penn & Teller were pro-2A. Well, learn something new every day!

Professional politician. Two words that have no business being used together.

I love how they put the issue right in one's face. It's too bad they couldn't air this in prime time on the local broadcast stations. It might help open peoples' eyes.
