Hi Rick,
I ordered this stock for my Maverick 88. I did not see any instructions so I went online to the ATI website and found some almost instructions. My problem is that the hex bolt holding the existing pistol grip onto the shot gun is only 1.5 inches long. I can not seem to get anything to fit together. I was assuming that I connect it through the butt after I remove the butt plate but even then the bolt is too short. Any ideas?
Here is the stock in question:
Shotgun Buttstock/Pistol Grip fits 12/20 gauge Maverick 88, Remington 870, Mossberg 500/535/590/835 and Winchester 1200/1300

Re: Replacing the stock on a Maverick 88
hmm..I found installation instructions at the ATI website. Maybe that will help.

After reading these instructions a little more, it looks like he needs to only use the single small spacer required for the Maverick 88.

Yep, that's the same thing I had to do to mount the ATI stock on my Mossberg 500.

Re: Replacing the stock on a Maverick 88
I think this problem has been resolved. This particular Maverick 88 had been modified previously with a pistol grip. The original bolt from the original stock was apparently thrown away and replaced with the bolt that came with the pistol grip. So, this guy is going to Lowes to get a longer bolt and the problem should be corrected.

I've seen parts like this for sale on Ebay for cheap, usually as a take-off item.

Exactly...pistol grip bolt is shorter than OEM bolt. ATI requires OEM bolt to be used.allingeneral wrote:I think this problem has been resolved. Here's how his Maverick 88 turned out with the pistol grip stock after a visit to Lowes for a 3-inch 5/16-18 Socket Head Cap Screw
