Kimchi Combat

Post by novasig226r »

Saber rattling from North Korea (again).

Since Hillary Clinton says:
United States' "support for South Korea's defense is unequivocal"
I guess we're going to (over)commit our troops to fighting the Korean War II?

All we need now is a U.S. warship in the vicinity of Korea to provoke a "Gulf of Tonkin" type of event. That's all it will take to draw us back into war.

Not many US troops there to fight a war...and the unlucky ones on the peninsula have a life expectancy of about 3 days if NK decides to roll south...and none to speak of that can be sent over...when we had double that their primary mission was hold until reinforced...not sure what it is today...if I were king for a day I'd load up 12 B-1s and have them make a nice big parking lot for the Hyundai plants near the DMZ...and those not so near the DMZ...

How many teenage boys today even know what the Selective Service is?. God help us if they have to find out.

The only way we could go up against North Korea again, and maybe China too, would be to institute the draft.

We have some bad days ahead of us regardless.

If we use my plan we'll need less than 100 good folks...I suspect they are ready to go this morning...

It would take at least a year to re-energize the draft system. I know the local boards still exist, but it'd take time for them to get rolling. Then more time to induct and train. All the while you'd have active resistance to it, both publically and politically.

A war on the Korean peninsula would probably be over before the first batch of draftees was ready to stop a bullet. NK playing for keeps means chemical and probably nuclear weapons - ROK may not lose but they probably wouldn't win, either.

Actually the shooting would most likely be over before everyone finished arguing over a draft...I'm not certain we would be smelling too rosy either.

I wouldn't want to be living in Hawaii or Alaska. Or the west coast.

Well the good news is it looks like China might roll the bus over NK...if they side together and the SHTF then we toast here too...
