Hello, from NoVA (Ashburn)
Just bought my first gun today from NoVA Armament in Herndon.
I'd fired longarms in high school and college - two decades ago - and fired handguns for the first time three weekends ago thanks to friends. All it took was two weekends, and I decided to buy my Springfield XDM 9mm.

Welcome, MindFlayer! You must have come by after I left for the day (I work at NoVa weekday mornings, generally).
Enjoy that XDm, and be sure to give us all a range report once you've taken her for a spin.

love the name... and a great monster in D&D...
just curious , did you get the XDm 3.8 ? or full size?
Either way, nice pistol...ENJOY!!!
Be particular, and be vigilant, as the enemy will only attack on two occasions:
When you're ready or when you're not ready.
Also never forget, that everyone who shows up, is not necessarily there to help.

Long delays on the Commonwealth's approval system - got the clear this evening, so picking up tomorrow, and training on Friday.

Re: Hello, from NoVA (Ashburn)
I asked for, read, and researched the handguns obsessively since my friends took me shooting. I knew I wanted the XD or XDm since they felt the best in hand of the Ones if fired. The barrel advice was mixed - the 3.8 may be better for carry despite the large grip; the longer barrels might be better as a newbie. In the end, I chose the XDM 3.8. As my friends have said, I'll be buying more and it's still a good gun to start with.BluemontGlock wrote:![]()
