To answer the generic question as to why a rangemaster/trainer might play footsie with gun grabbers:
Government training contracts.
Government training contracts.
Re: The Mis-adventures of a 2A Noob
Wow, what's that mean? I'm a non-practicing Jew, although even if I were practicing, it wouldn't matter in terms of what you're apparently talking about. I'm VERY much anti-Obama and honestly think anyone with more than a handful of functioning brain cells and a respect for our Constitution would be. I'm a vet, as are/were my son, father, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, future son-in-law (Army 82nd Airborne, 11BangBang, CIB...the works), and assorted uncles. As far as Jews and guns, I think Israelis pack more heat per capita than anywhere else. So what exactly is "Patriot Card yanked" if you're a Jew mean? Like all Jews are unpatriotic and/or traitors? If that's what you meant, you need an education. If not, I'm sorry I misunderstood.KaosDad wrote:
Do you happen to practice the Jewish faith & tithe regularly? Patriot Card yanked!
Re: The Mis-adventures of a 2A Noob
No - not all! A person's faith has no bearing on their Patriotism and you are actually helping with my point. If you follow the NRA link I posted you will several Jewish organizations that are anti-2A. So, my statement is mearly referring to the fact that if you are Jewish & give money to your faith - you are probabliy contributing to an anti-2A organization. There are some folks out there that would label you as a "non-patriot" for that. See? And I simply used that as an example - not saying that the only anti-2A religious groups are Jewish.
Did that clear it up OK?

Do I get my Patriot Card yanked because I shoot at SEG sometimes? They give money to anti-gunners too...oh, wait...already been covered.
I try to not frequent business who are anti-gun, but sometimes there aren't many options. SEG is convenient and is a good range. Not much else around here that compares. However, if they start with the police only attitude again, I'll leave. I wonder how long it will take before they get enough government contracts and they won't need us civilians any more? Can't help but wonder if they are using civilian memberships as a stopgap only and don't plan on it long term.

Thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately there are SO many ways that everyday spending will wind up putting money in the pockets of those whose views are strongly opposed to yours. Even things like watching a liberal cable network (thus increasing their viewers and advertising rates), buying a liberal newspaper, or buying car insurance from certain companies. It's quite impossible to make sure that your spending doesn't wind up in the pockets of those you oppose, regardless of whether you're a conservative or a liberal.

I'll tell you as a fact that SEG is in it for the long run with the public. Memberships will be reinstated shortly, and with that will come some surprises for everyone. So don't sweat the contracts, they'll be primarily in our off public hours. If you've been with SEG for a while you'll remember the type of clientele they were going for originally... $$$... that has been adjusted to a more realistic approach, which everyone currently enjoysgunderwood wrote:Do I get my Patriot Card yanked because I shoot at SEG sometimes? Good to hear. The one thing I wish I could do at SEG is chronograph loads.MDukes wrote:I'll tell you as a fact that SEG is in it for the long run with the public. Trust me when I say we'll have even more new technology on the way that no other public training facility or range has. So stay tuned kids, you won't be disappointed.

Spoiler alert: I appreciate that a chronograph is something many shooters would like to see at our facility, but what we have coming is going to be a hell of a lot more interesting and will make all you bulls-eye guys on the range look like first time shooters. I'm telling you, you'll be impressed and if you take advantage, you'll become a better shooter. You're going to learn how to think as your shooting, shoot in more than one direction and you will notice immediate improvement after just one session. So get excited and we'll see you at the range soon.
