Walther PK380

Well, they certainly look the same, don't they? But I looked at a Galco leather pocket holster for the P22 for my PK380, and it wouldn't fit. The PK380 is slightly bigger than the P22. I would image that the P99 is quite a bit bigger than the PK380. So I doubt a holster made for the P99 works with the PK380 or P22.

Hi guys i just purchased the Walther pk380. i want to know if the body styles on the P99, P22, and Pk380 are alike enough so that i could us my pk380 in a P99 hulster its a dedicated fobus roto hulster.

I have no idea on the holster set up. I use a belt slide holster that I have had for over 35 years that will work with the Walther my glock and my S & W 469. Hell it work's with any semi auto that I have owned over the past 35 years.

No, it is an old Smith & Wesson slide holster that was made for a S & W mod. #469 - 9 MM that just seem's to fit everything that I have in a semi auto.

So I took it back to the range today and had much better performance. Basically, out of 90 or so rounds, the only hiccup I had was one failure to fire. However, when switching from the Independence ammo to the PMC, I noticed this:

I think they put some sort of filler in their ammo, and it was being left behind. The PMC was noticeably hotter and more accurate.

Yep Andy, some weapons will not digest all types of ammo. I know a lot of people will try and find the cheapest ammo that they can and with the price and availability of 380 ammo right now I don't blame them, but sometime's you pay a price for it with the ability for your weapon to digest it without a hitch. Mine has never had any problem with good speer or remington ammo and my reloads feed and fire without a hitch even if they are conciderd a little hot.

I carry my SW99 (same gun as the P99) in the Fobus roto holster and I can tell you with 85% certainty that it will NOT carry the PK380. The fobus holster relies on a tight fit for retention, and owning the P99 and having handled the PK380 quite a bit (only at the store...I kinda want one!), I can tell you that there is certainly a very large size difference. I think at the very least it would rattle around a LOT and at worst it would just fall out. Not worth the risk to save the cost of another holster--maybe look into a more appropriate multi-use one like some others have mentioned?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I wouldn't use the same holster!

So while I hesitate to "double post," this is a different topic from my last post but still PK380 related.

I've handled the PK380 several times now and I really like it. I have a SW99 but I got my CHP recently and want something smaller/more easily concealable. I like Walther's "feel," such as the trigger guard mag release, etc., so I've been looking at the PK380. I like the size, the feel, the action, and the price. I do have some reservations about .380ACP though, especially as a defensive round.

Recently I discovered the Walther PPS online. I have yet to handle one in person, but I think it might be replacing the PK380 as my fantasy carry weapon...it's quite a bit more expensive, but it would be great to have that in .40 so I could share rounds with my SW99 instead of "diversifying," and I really like the "lines" and the features (like the mag release) that I've come to like in Walther pistols. I've heard it's not a very soft shooter, but that doesn't concern me much; I'm not overly sensitive to that sort of thing...I find that even when I'm shooting large bore rifles, I rarely register the recoil because my mind/concentration is on other things...

Does anyone have any experience with the PPS, and best of all as compared to the PK380?

I'm no expert but I believe the PK380 and P22 are smaller than the P99. I think most people would suggest ensuring a gun-to-holster fit by choosing a holster made specifically for the PK380. I'd go to a gun store and see if they have a P99 holster you can look at before buying one and being stuck with a holster you can't use.
