We are always glad to hear from our many friends and customers who share in the
shooting sport.
We have been working 7 days a week 24 hours a day since last November making and
shipping ammunition. However, in spite of our very best efforts we can't keep up
with the seemingly insatiable demand nationwide for our products.
Thank you again for contacting us here at Winchester Ammunition. If you should
require additional information, do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,

I sent Winchester an email asking why I can't seem to get any ammunition in stock. Here is their response:

Doesn't really tell you much, does it? How much have they been making and where have they been shipping it to? That might tell us something but they'll never give out that information. Maybe it's all being smuggled into Mexico along with the guns, the guns aren't of any use without the ammo.

No, it doesn't tell us much. I also talked to my distributor today and he isn't having any better luck getting information.
I don't know when I'll have any of it in stock. I'm pretty much at the whim of the manufacturers.

That is just about the same answer (verbatim) that CCI has

How much? Millions upon millions of rounds.Moccasin wrote:How much have they been making and where have they been shipping it to?
Where is it going? Military, guard and law enforcement caches and training facilities as they prepare for the coming storm.
Re: Winchester Ammunition Response to Ammo Shortage
Joe Biden is buying it all up so him and Pelosi can go shooting.
Re: Winchester Ammunition Response to Ammo Shortage
You all need to realize that will all the GUNS that we ship to MEXICO the demand of Ammo was escalated by our friends down below, so stop it with the gun raffles already and we will have plenty of ammo once again.
That is my opinion and I’m sticking with it.

Maybe they can go quail hunting like Dick Cheney and his lawyer friend. If Biden is Cheney, and Pelosi is the lawyer, then I might just have to kick in a box of 12ga shells for themVahunter wrote:Joe Biden is buying it all up so him and Pelosi can go shooting.

I think Cheney ought to take Obama, Biden, and Pelosi hunting. You can use slugs and 00 buck for quail, right?

Quayle was never there.....OH! Quail you said. Dan Quayle should have been the beneficiary of Cheney as well. Not the brightest bulb of the bunch. Picknic minus sadwiches = Quayle

Its a liberal conspiracy that is part of the Federal Budget. Since they can't get rid of the guns, they are
just buying up all the ammo...

I'm not so sure about the conspiracy angle at this point, although it is kind of fishy. Right now, I'm content that it's nothing more than the "get it before it's gone" mentality. The same goes for AR-style rifles and anything with a "high capacity" magazine. For those of us that remember the last AWB, we are doing exactly what we wished we had done back then.alby wrote:Its a liberal conspiracy that is part of the Federal Budget. I'm going to northern Pennsylvania tomorrow, I will check out the local sporting goods stores. I'm curious to see if they have ammo. I hope I can pick up a few hundred rounds, I'll let you know what is going on up there.
Re: Winchester Ammunition Response to Ammo Shortage
I was in northeastern Pennsylvania on a hunting trip and stopped in a few gun shops, I found one that had some ammo. I bought a few boxes of Rem Core-Lokt's 30-06, 180 gr Springfield, cost $15.95 for a box, not too bad a price, and some 22 cal LR. He had a lot of 45 GAP, and a lot of 38's but no 45 ACP or 9MM that I could see.
The shop was real busy for such a small place, I was suprised at the crowd in there. I wish it was a little quieter and I could talk to him for a while but no such luck, he had a lot of used guns, muzzleloaders and shotguns, some rifles, the prices where a little high but not too far out of line.
The name of the shop is Piestrak's Gun Shop, I believe he is located in Alden or Alden Station Pa. I don't know if he sells out of state or anything about him, but I know he is on the net so you can check him out. I didn't have a lot of time to spend so thats the best I could do.

This guy must have been reading my mind
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/05 ... -magazine/"Despite how the conflict has been portrayed by our glorious media, if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Osama bin Laden, there's a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death."

Re: Winchester Ammunition Response to Ammo Shortage
I frequently surf the net looking and buy whenever I find it, sometimes regardless of cost. I also make it a point to stop at local stores or when I'm on trips. I used to reload and thinking now might be a good time start doing that again.
No more catchy slogans for me...I am simply fed up...4...four...4...2+2...
