[Video] How to Field Strip a Glock
How to Field Strip and Detail Strip a Glock 22 (.40 Caliber). Good Stuff.
Re: [Video] How to Field Strip a Glock
Very informative but when should you do a complete field strip like that? Perhaps after a couple of thousand rounds? I certainly wouldn't after shooting a 100 rounds or so? AND how far do you strip it down after a light shooting day at the range? Thanks!

I'd say you should clean it after any visit to the shooting range. Break it down to the "Field Strip" level at a minimum, clean it up and lubricate it. There's no such thing as cleaning it too often - plus, after breaking it down a couple of times, you'll get used to it and it will become easy...you learn about how your gun works and it's even kinda fun from time to time to sit down with your baby and give her a good cleaning
Just make sure you lubricate it after wiping everything down. A dry gun - especially a semi-auto - is trouble waiting to happen and causes more wear and tear on the moving parts.

Field strip after every use.
Detail strip the upper (slide, firing pin, etc) every ten or so uses.
I wouldn't bother detail stripping the lower (trigger group, magazine well, etc) unless you encounter problems.
Glocks totally rule for being so easy to work on and maintain.

Wylde,
Thanks for answering my question. I wasn't pulling the firing pin during cleaning but I'll do so from now on. Don't feel like messing with the lower frame and if I feel like I need to, I'll have a friend walk me through it, (Glock Armorer). Thanks!
