Not Sure I Understand

Post by Taggure »

Let me get this straight......we passed a health care plan written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it, to be signed by a president that also is exempt from it and hasn't read it and who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke.

What the hell could possibly go wrong?

Can Someone tell me what the HELL went on here Please?

Vern,
I could start to explain but it will only bumm you out more...and i will end up crying and be unconsolable for days...

but i must say, your synopsis pretty much hits it square in crotch...

and to hand the entire mess to the IRS... gives me personal intrepidation and butterflies that reminds me of how i felt on 9/11...

You nailed it Vern... IMHO .people were insuch a hurry to get rid of George Bush and John McCain was such a crappy candidate that they didn't really comprehend the meaning of change that Obama and his crappy cohorts were promoting. Hence a bunch of old hippies, jackass dreamers and radical zealots to ruin the country in as short a time as possible knowing that once the idiots that elected them wake up, They political careers are Toast!!!

If you dont understand now wait until they pull their next few tricks - takeover of the financial industry, amnesty, etc, etc...the answer is simple...the left has control and they are running rampant like little orphan waifs in a candy store while the manager uses the bathroom...

Its called a bloodless coup....and please, before anyone tries to school me on the "hopes" of Novembers election possibilities....I refer you all back to Patrick Henry's speech on the St Johns.. thread. The only way to reverse this mess would be if every single seat was changed in D.C. there are NO patriots working on the behalf of the American public, all of them are power mad overlords. Prove me wrong before you try to influence my opinion.

Mid-term election possibilities? Yes I refer you to my post where pelosi made it clear that they are not going to give up control -- for the good of America of course. Her words, not mine...

Folks, I'm not saying the mid-terms are a wash but if you truly think the dems are merely going to walk because the people vote them out, then you might want to think again. Have they listened or bent to the will of the people yet? What makes you think they will do so because we cast our vote in November? Much like Patrick Henry said -- we have called, we have begged, we have pleaded and implored, prostrated ourselves before them, and protested. Have they listened yet?

NO. They, of course know better than we do. We are merely babes in the woods requiring nurturing from the state and they will provide...

Btw, I'm just sayin..... (trying to copy GS78 here)

Hey I hear ya Ben but I aint runnin. I've quit trying to get the attention of our government. I've shifted my efforts of asking, petitioning, pleading, and prostrating myself over to God. He is in control and all will be well...in the end...

Agree. I am worried that come November we will get a bunch of Rs to replace the Ds and everyone will be happy, but nothing substantial will have changed. We will have just replaced one power hungry group with another. We will be stuck with Obama's change and the new guys will make only minor tweaks to it while claiming to have rolled back the socialist tide.

exactly. Look at the way the R's have jumped on this "reverse and replace" BS....all of them now, in sync. shouting that crap from every microphone stand in D.C. all to give themselves some cover before they get home for spring break. What a freakin joke. I hope JD Hayworth mops the desert floor with McCain, and any and all of the rest of the rhinos, and Dems who are up this year get the boot.

Well, I guess here I go.
I believe in the Constitution, the Rule of Law, and the Greatness of our PROUD Nation. Our forefathers set down within the Constitution for Our Great Nation a roadmap to follow, not for their sakes but for those to come. Why, because they knew what it was like to live under Tyranny and a government that did not and would not listen to the peoples will.
They set forth safeguards within the Constitution that would insure that “We The People” rights could not be infringed on, and if those sacred rights were infringed on “We The People” would have the means in which to take our rights back. The means are through a Peaceful transition of powers through Elections.
Unfortunately today both the Democrats and the Republicans are just as equally power hungry. What we need are more Constitutional Conservatives running that share our founder’s vision for our country. I joined the TEA Party here in Virginia as they are the closest that comes to a Constitutional Conservative party that we have. The problem is that if we vote for a TEA Party candidate and they are not the Republican candidate that vote sits in the silent minority, and all that we have fought for and voted for is for naught.
I have always voted for the Republicans up until this last Presidential election. You ask me did I vote and the answer would be Yes, but why would I change? I did not vote Democrat either. I voted for the Constitutional party candidate Chuck Baldwin for president as I had no others that I believed stood for the type of America that I believe in.
I hope that the TEA Party can get the Republicans back to the Constitutional Conservative foundations that this country so need’s. Because if the Republicans do not heed the call they may never have a chance to set this great country of ours back on it Republic Rule of Law foundation.
One last thought before I go. The United States of America’s Constitution was basis for a Republic government not a Democracy and there was a good reason for that. In a Republic the sovereignty is in each individual person. In a Democracy the sovereignty is in the group.
What does this mean? Well in the simplest terms it means that as a Republic we are ruled by law not a majority as in a Democracy. Let me try to explain:
A Republic is representative government that is ruled by law (the Constitution).
A democracy is direct government that is ruled by the majority (mob rule). A Republic recognizes the inalienable rights of individuals while democracies are only concerned with group wants or needs (the public good i.e. Public Health Care).
Think about what is happening today and the direction that the both the Bush and Obama Presidencies have and are currently taking our Great Country, and ask yourself is this the right direction. Take time to Read, yes I said Read, the Constitution of the United States of America it is available on line and easy to get. It is not that long and not hard to read and you might be really glad you took the time. There are some very interesting facts and forethought in this document. Make sure that you read all the amendments as well as the Bill Of Rights.
I write this because I am concerned. I write this because I have children. I write this because I am a Veteran and served honorably for 20+ years. I write this because I feel that it is time to speak out and let my voice be heard. I am not asking for much just for the people of this great country to Read and comprehend what a gift the Constitution of the United States of America is at least once in their lifetime
