Hello from NoVa!!
Found the website yesterday thought I would join. Bought a couple guns from a friend now I'm hooked(haven't shot a gun for over thirty years). Hope to meet some new people & learn from everyone.

Welcome Dave! My story is similar... grew up with guns and always owned one but it sat for many years. Just got interested again a couple of years ago.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you!

Be particular, and be vigilant, as the enemy will only attack on two occasions:
When you're ready or when you're not ready.
Also never forget, that everyone who shows up, is not necessarily there to help.

Darn it, Bluemont, Now I got icing all over the keyboard...
Now is the time for all good men to get off their rusty dustys...
Re: Hello from NoVa!!
Palladin, regarding this: "Now I got icing all over the keyboard..." I used to spend time on rough, tough guy websites such as "War Rifles" where it seemed about half the members seemed to look forward with joy toward SHTF day when they could grab more guns than they could carry and thousands of rounds and their "bug-out bags," climb into their 4x4s and head for their remote lair 'way out in the woods from which they'd shoot anyone who came with a mile and wouldn't give a long-time neighbor a ride out there because the neighbor would learn about their offensive armaments (or stuff like that). A delightful bunch.
I've especially enjoyed the bug-out bag concept. They'd carry some sort of backpack that would be even too big for special warfare guys or jarheads to haul around. It would contain food, water, clean socks and maybe condoms sufficient to last them for two weeks after which they'd have grown more on their fertile plots.
Now, commenting on your post about the icing in the keyboard. My kit would have to be two revolvers--a S&W M&P .38 special about 1915 vintage and an Iver-Johnson .22 LR. The S&W would be stuffed full of 6 rounds and I think I have a box of .22 somewhere. I could probably carry 2 canteens if I didn't have to walk, and everything else would be food.
I always eat at my computer desk, so if I need to take a 2-week supply of food all I have to do is unplug my keyboard and stuff it in my b-o bag. I've been eating there about 5 years, and it contains a gourmet diet of chicken scraps, bread crumbs, cole slaw, and the like. If I lick the key pads I'll even have the taste of cheap red wine.
I didn't even think of icing, which is why I particularly appreciate your post. Thanks for the hint.
