Ron Paul?

Post by GS78 »

Well, say what you will about this "straw poll"......the people at the CPAC convention were NOT asked to participate in the poll, they SOUGHT IT OUT, waited in long lines to vote in it, and still picked Ron Paul by a majority vote.

........DK?... what were we just corresponding about?.....

I think Ron Paul would be a good choice and I would vote for him hands down. I think of all the candidates I've seen he comes closest to holding the Constitution first. My fear is that if elected he would follow the foot steps of JFK and try to bring down the Fed. We all know what happened to JFK and where the Fed is today...

We converse so much, not sure what precisely were "just" corresponding about...

Ron Paul has as much chance to win as neil boortz has to change the IRS laws to a fair tax in this country.

The vote was CPAC, but he wouldn't get the Republican party nod and win the primaries. Voting for Ron Paul as a third party candidate will only put more Progressives in office.

Think back to Ross Perot. We have him to thank for Clinton as he siphoned off votes that would have gone to Bush 1.

Think back to Bush 2. He won against Gore because Nadar sucked off a few thousand Dem votes which cost Gore Florida and the election.

I use the Bush's as most recent examples and am not pushing for another political dynasty as that should never be allowed to happen.

I'm not slamming Paul, but am trying to convey political realities.

And you are correct. He'll (RP) wont get on the republican ticket and running independent does introduce skew into the race. My guess is the republican 2012 ticket will be 2 young ultra conservatives with rock star status.
